I took the and modified it slightly to fit in our kitchen.

What was the inspiration behind your award winning Roomset Design Relaxation and indulgence was my ultimate inspiration, closely followed by my love for age, tradition and patina — the kind you see in rustic old French farmhouses or run down Georgian town houses.



So there will be gaps of varying degree between the boards.





You could leave it off, but you would need to add some reinforcement to the legs at the base o the table.



Good luck on the project! Depending on how severe the splits are, wood filler would work fine.



Here are my thoughts on the wood filler.



Putting the wood filler in is a messy process no matter how you try to put it in.

Description: Then after applying the stain itself I ended up applying 2 coats of the stain to get a little richer finishI used the Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane in a clear satin finish.

    One trick if it is not too twisted is to sand or cut one of the legs that seems to be shorter to match the one across from it { always on the short end of the table or bench} The table or bench will now sit flat and nor rock on two legs any more.

    If you screw the top to the base a lot of people do thatyou run the risk of some warping which can make the table a bit wobbly.
